Brisingr by Christopher PaoliniBritt's review

I was lucky enough to be in the first wave of people waiting on the hold list at the library for this book. Currently there are still 934 people on the hold list waiting to read it.
I got to about page 40, well maybe that’s a little generous, page 30, and there was just so much blah, blah, blah, take FOREVER to say anything that I set it down. And every time I sat down to feed Abby and had the option of reading Brisingr or watching Internet clips of the Today Show, the Today Show always won. So there the book sat for all those days that the library was letting me borrow it for -- and then some. Dan, skip to the next paragraph now. I finally got around to taking the book back to the library when they called and left a message saying it was very important that I return the book. I mean, nine-hundred and thirty-four people were waiting to read it!
I heard the last 50 pages (of the 784 pages in it) are pretty good. Yup, 734 pages until you get to the good part. I’m sorry, but Christopher Paolini, you are neither a Leo Tolstoy nor a J.K. Rowling. How are getting away with publishing 734 pages of blah, blah before the good part?
I actually do want to know what eventually happens to Eragon and Saphira, despite the borrowed storylines of Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings. Just, Cliff Notes please. When those are available, I’ll finish reading the trilogy. What’s that? He’s making it into a quadrilogy (is that a word) because he has more to say…? Editor, are you out there? Please. Now I’m just being indulgent, so I stop here.
